2012 Themes
Our Programming Committee has highlighted a stimulating roster of Series for this year’s festival.
These range from a strong commitment to Films on the Environment PDF), a repeat of last year’s successful Food series PDF), a Spotlight on Iranian Cinema, a Spotlight on Cuba, a look at inventive films relating to Music, a special section on Gender and last, but not least, an exploration of films that reflect How We Live Now.
In addition, the Committee is proud to present a Spotlight section – the Best of Fest – films that have received exceptional recognition at some of the most respected film festivals around the world.
New this year will be five specially curated programs of short films - shown daily on weekdays at noon.
As always, we will be devoting 2 days to screening a juried selection of the Vermont Filmmakers’ Showcase.
Panels and workshops will also be a specially strong section this year.
