Sunday, October 28, 2012 at 11:00 AM |

Sponsor: Burlington College
Joint Panel Presentation: Nora Jacobson, Louise Michaels, Dorothy Todd, Nat Winthrop & Rob Koier of Freedom & Unity: The Vermont Movie and Victor Guadagno of Vermont Energy Independence Day.
Moderator: Allan Nicholls
This event is a must for anyone contemplating a career in film.

Film is a collaborative art form, despite the fact that there is usually only one director. How do the various styles and visions of creative participants—from director of photography to composer, editor, actor and director collide or coalesce to form a unified whole? What happens when there is more than one director?

Freedom and Unity was set up as a collaboration between many directors. Vermont Energy Independence Day is set up as a crowd-sourced film.
How have The Vermont Movie team, and Vic Guadagno and his team, found ways to create a cohesive whole?

This panel will explore these questions and more. Each team will present their experience, show extracts from films and invite comments and questions from the audience.

Moderator Allan Nicholls who has worked with the great, late Robert Altman, master of the art of collaboration (Nashville, Short Cuts) will also share his experiences.
