Films from Past Years
/ Who Sits Where and Why?Documentary Short | Vermont Films | 2011 | 13 min
Directors Alison Segar, Elda Olango, Faiza Abdulahi, Nick Labow, Tele Wilson
This film was made by four Burlington High School sophomores, through “Shades of Ebony,” an after-school academic enhancement program. The students, from four different countries and new to filmmaking, were all struck with the unspoken divisions that occurred in the seating arrangements in their high school cafeteria and wondered, “Who sits where and why?” The subject is fascinating for both children and adults and touches on subjects that are important for everyone who wants to create a non-divisive and thoughtful environment for learning.
