For over ten years, schools all over Vermont have been engaging in farm-to-school programs that not only bring fresh produce into cafeterias but also integrate nutrition education into the curriculum and engage students in hands-on activities in school gardens and field trips to farms. This integrated approach –“Classroom, Cafeteria, and Community”—is a model that supports long-term school food system change by bringing everybody to the table.
