In 1952, eleven year-old Walter’s idyllic life takes a tragic turn and sets him on a journey that tests his trust, ingenuity, and strength, as he and his brother try to save their farm and their relationship. Between milking cows, haying, and fixing farm equipment, he finds time to enjoy being a child with his sidekick Margaret, with whom he shares a love of Western movies. Eventually terrible truths are revealed, setting the stage for the hardest decision of his life.
