City of Borders follows the daily lives of five Israelis and Palestinians at Jerusalem’s only gay bar as they navigate the minefield of politics, religion and discrimination to live and love openly. Set against the construction of the separation wall between Israel and the Palestinian territories and the struggle for a gay pride parade in Jerusalem, these 4 inter-woven stories of lively and engaging individuals combine to show us that borders in the region are more than walls and barbed wire, that perceptions of us versus them, of “I versus the Other,” are so deeply ingrained in both religions, history, and politics in the region that even a moment of intimacy between lovers can turn into a moment of “fucking the enemy”.
